Two lawyers from the Legal Aid Bureau, Counsel Sigele Chirwa and Counsel Rodgers Mpombedza took up representation of Tebulo and made an application before High Court Judge Slyvester Kalembera at Chichiri prison where the High Court sat as a camp court.

After the application from the Bureau’s lawyers, the judge unconditionally released Allan Tebulo who has been on remand at Chichiri prison while waiting for the judgment.

Tebulo, who hails from Ngelele Village, Traditional Authority Chikowi in Zomba District, has been remanded at Chichiri prison since 2007 on allegations of murder.

His co-accused was released on bail in the same year. However, that was not the case for Tebulo as he only appeared in court in 2013 and was waiting for judgment till recently.

Justice Sylvester Kalembera unconditionally released him end January 2022 during the Camp Court which was organized by the Paralegal Advisory Service Institute-PASI and The Centre for Human Rights Education, Advice and Assistance (CHREAA).

All the accused persons during the camp court were being represented by Legal Aid Bureau lawyers and they had financial assistance from Chilungamo Programme.
