The Bureau Launches An Electronic Case Management System

CasePlus, a case management system

Striving towards the provision of excellent and quality legal aid service, the Legal Aid Bureau has migrated from hard copy case registering system to electronic case management system called the CasePlus.

The system was rolled out on 2nd August, 2021 across all the Bureau’s 17 offices across the country. This system will eliminate instances of lost case files, speed up file processing procedures, as well as ensure real time monitoring of progress made on each file by management. The system will also ensure ease of generating status reports, among other things.

Speaking on the advancements done by the Bureau towards this positive progress, The Director of the Bureau, Mr. Masauko Chamkakala said, “Instances of lost case files will be a thing of the past and following up on progress for cases will be at the click of a button.”

The Bureau has been having issues with following up on old cases whose files may have been misplaced owing to changes in personnel handling the matters. Moving forward there is hope that cases can be followed up easily irrespective of how far back they were registered since all cases will be migrated to the electronic platform. The CasePlus case management system has been made possible with funding from government.
